Saturday, May 19, 2012 SMB Report…

Capt. Ken and Doug were joined by Terry O. and his family from Mars, PA.

They headed east of Presque Isle Bay in search Erie’s smallmouth and found decent numbers of fish.  The average smallie went 2-3lbs(all males).  25 were boated with the same amount or more lost…including drive-bys.

The crew also had to contend with massive amounts of moss/algae that blanketed the surface in large areas.  It was a constant battle all day, cleaning lines.  Once a pocket of “clean” water was found and the lures found the zone, a bite(sometimes several) was had.

B3 also boated several farm animals and a few rock bass.

The program consisted of Reef Runner Deep Little Rippers off the boards.  Best colors were Brown Perch, Glowby and Firetiger.  Storm Thunderstick Jr’s took a couple of bites, too.  The fish wanted ‘em going 2.3mph…nothing more, nothing less.
